A Great Car Dealer Experience
April 24th, 2010
When was the last time you were happy to go into a car dealership? I just spent some time at the new Cadillac store that opened just off of North avenue and Halsted Streets in Chicago. You might know the area as the North and Clyborn stop of the Red Line. The place is called Grossinger City Cadillac. This is their website http://www.grossingercitycadillac.com/ They actually sell new Chevrolets, Toyotas and Scions there as well. One of the salespersons told me that these are the most popular models of cars sold in the US, and they’re under one roof. I believe it. The building is huge. One of the things that impressed me was that they had FREE indoor valet parking for visitors. In such a congested area, this makes great sense. It looked like a great place to get your car serviced. Big comfortable (new) chairs, a coffee shop, WiFi, and a TV area. Their cars are indoors on a least two levels (I only took the escalator to the second floor). I didn’t feel pressured to look at or drive anything. It was actually like a real shopping experience, not a “car” shopping experience.
If you are in the area you should definitely stop by, even if you just want a cup of coffee or check your email before you hit the stores on North Avenue.
